On September 19, 1900, Butch Cassidy and his gang (later dubbed, “The Wild Bunch”) robbed the First National Bank of Winnemucca, Nevada of $32,640. In December, they posed in Fort Worth, Texas for this photograph (photographer unknown). The Pinkerton Detective Agency would later use it in their Wanted posters for the gang.
